So you’re having a couple of friends over for a house warming party. As they arrive you show them to the kitchen where you’re other-half has beautifully placed a large selection of finger foods. Things like mushroom and goat cheese bruschetta, spinach potato fritters, jumbo baked coconut shrimp with pineapple dipping sauce, a platter of fresh cut veggies with hummus and a platter of cheeses and deli meats for you to choose from. Everyone comments on the nice selection of food and thanks you both for providing it. You courteously acknowledge their remarks and ask them if they’d like something to drink, the women some sweet red wine and the men some ice cold beer.
After a bit of mingling you decide to show your guests around your home. You’re anxious to show everyone you’re new game room but you decided to save it for last. Once the tour has ended, you invite everyone to come check out your game room which contains your brand new billiard table.
One by one your friends start entering the room, some head for the couch finding a spot in which they can rest to enjoy those yummy finger foods and others walk around with drink in hand searching for a cue stick in hopes of a friendly game of pool. Right away, you notice one of your friends placing their wine glass on the rim of your billiard table. Immediately you think to yourself, this could be bad but what do you say without sounding rude? Got it, you grab a cue stick and suggest your friend grab the glass since your going to be walking around during the game. She goes to grab the glass half in conversation and whaaam, the glass of red wine spills all over your felt, before you even had a chance to play.
What do you do? Thank goodness that your billiard provider told you this might happen, you run to find some clean cloths, with one you soak up the remaining liquid. The longer you wait the more difficult it becomes to remove the stain, with this in mind you find some cool water and soak the spot, soon after you use a new cloth to soak up the water. You notice that the wine is starting to come out! Finally you in search for your felt cleaner which will take care of the remaining stain and leave the room smelling nice. Unfortunately you can’t find your cleaner! so you end up speaking with your partner and decide to try one cup of cold water and one tablespoon of vinegar in a small dish. Yay that did the trick, no harm done. You let your pool table sit for half hour or so in order to dry and you guys get on with your night. A catastrophe avoided.
You should have a simple rule, set a drink or food on my rail and you are out of here, hasta la vista, bye bye.
