Our History

Family owned and operated for more than fifty years, Golden West Billiards was established in 1968 by Donald Brostoski who believed that good design and fine craftsmanship should be at the heart and soul of anything worth making. While the industry was focused on mass production, speed and efficiencies, Donald Brostoski , embraced an old-world tradition of master craftsmanship and artistry.

The company set up shop in Portland, Oregon where there was (and still is!) an abundance of natural resources and quickly established a reputation for producing high quality tables and original designs. Over the years, as the business has passed down from one generation to the next, this steadfast commitment to hand crafted heirloom tables, built one at a time, has remained. As new technology and innovations have come along, the family has continued to refine Golden West Billiards’ manufacturing processes, but a hands-on approach to every order is still policy number one.

Today, Golden West Billiards can be found in homes and game rooms around the country. As the company continues to expand, customers can rely on one other tradition that hasn’t changed over the years—a great sense of humor and joy for life! These permeate the company culture, having been passed down from one generation to the next and are shared daily with employees and customers alike.

Golden West Billiards is also the only manufacturer to do all laminating, wood turning and carving in house. Our team of craftsman takes great pride in their detailed handiwork and state-of-the-art finishing, treating each piece as an original work of art and providing personal attention and oversight to every detail.
